Yakety Yak Wireless Superstore Wins Peoples Choice 'Cell Phone Store of the Year' Award in South Lyon

Yakety Yak Wireless, Inc., one of the fastest-growing wireless franchises in the nation, today announced that it's Yakety Yak wireless superstore in South Lyon, Mich., won the People's Choice 'Cell Phone Store of the Year' award, of the four stores in town, as voted by local residents. The award was presented to store co-owners, brothers Steve and Theyaa Matti, by the South Lyon Herald.

The Yakety Yak store opened in August of 2006 to offer customers one-stop shopping for Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint Nextel, Boost Mobile, and Amp'd Mobile, as well as all of the hottest wireless products on the market, including MP3 players, iPod accessories, Bluetooth headsets, home and in-car chargers, and a wide selection of functional and fashionable cell phone cases, pouches, skins and snap-ons.

"We consult with each customer to determine the calling plan and phone that will best fit their needs, and back that up with 100 percent customer service, from filling out forms, reviewing service plans to explaining phone functionality," said Theyaa.

Another unique feature of the South Lyon Yakety Yak wireless superstore is the 'Yak Swap' program, a convenient, environmentally-friendly trade-in program for used cell phones. Customers bring in their old cell phones and have the 'Blue Book' value of the phone assessed for an instant in-store credit or cash, making it easy to responsibly recycle and also offset the cost of new equipment.

"E-waste is a community concern, and the Yak Swap program is sensible alternative to discarding cell phones that contain lead, cadmium and mercury and cannot be safely dumped in landfills," Steve said. "As members of the community, we are very concerned about the amount of e-waste and the Yak Swap recycling program is an important part of the solution."
